So here's a quick summary of a few things from this week as seen through the eyes of my phone's camera - which isn't too hot!

The Rack
First off, I did a bit of work on my computers last weekend / early this week. I now have 2 identical Lian Li cases, one housing my main rig, the other housing a server which is currently running Domino / File & Print, IIS and SQL - the disks on the server are mirrored, so I finally have some sort of backup in place for anything important at home. Now it's time to upgrade to Gigabit ethernet..
Motorhead
Motorhead were great - the pictures aren't, which is to be expected. It was weird, but yet quite good to be sitting down to see them play. They were insanely loud, and I honestly wouldn't have wanted to be any closer to the PA than we were. Motorhead is my 3rd "sitting down" concert ever, the other 2 being Tool in London and Alicia Keys in Auckland - quite an interesting mix I have to say.
Ghetto Networking
The story behind this occurs on the night of our office xmas party. We were having some major cabling / networking work performed over the weekend, but one of the project teams insisted that they needed to keep working. So we managed to rig up this little mess which allowed them to work while the entire network was torn around them. I'm sure the picture is funnier if you were there and involved with the process, but believe me, it's incredibly funny. At the time this picture was taken we'd just managed to install this mess during work hours without anyone noticing, which involved unplugging + moving the Cisco router (WAN / Email + Internet link), the main File & Print server (DNS / DHCP as well as file & print), as well as 5 production servers, plugging them into this old switch, and then patching the switch back into the production LAN. Then we gave the thing it's own Wireless access point, and hey presto, instant independant but yet connected network.
Well the picture makes me laugh anyway, and thats the idea.
The Cricket
We got pwned, and we got pwned hard, but it was an amazing day weatherwise, and the terraces provided quite a bit of amusement. The "YOU LOST THE ASHES" chant which echoed around the whole Stadium being a highlight which seems to have escaped mention in any of the newspaper reports I've read so far.
