'Smooth on come-down'

The "Herald writer" who wrote "this article" seems to have an obsession with putting "things" inside "quotation marks". I get the feeling they think it makes their article "more readable", whereas it's actually "fucking annoying".

It's very sad that the newspaper considers this stuff frontpage news - celebrities want to get high you know, just like well over 50% (*) of all other "mainstream" New Zealanders do. Leave Ellis alone and focus on something worthy of being "news".

* Actual statistic may not be true or even close to the real figure of New Zealanders who currently consume or who have previously consumed aforementioned substances. However if the Herald can make claims about things without actually doing any research then I can too.

This post from blogging it real is great, my favourite paragraph:

Why the fuck is the word smoke in speech marks? Is this some exotic drug talk with which the public is unfamiliar? I for one can't beleive that a middle-aged person with a job might try to hook a friend up with the devil's weed, and then imply he may partake in the smoking of it at some later date. This man should be extradited from Australia, immediately!
