There's a really weird trend when it comes to advertising hardcore bands in NZ. It seems that whenever the band is from overseas, in this case from the US, the promoters feel obliged to put (US) next to the name of the band. I figure it's because THEY don't know who the hell these bands are, and it's their way of making sure people know it's an international act. It just seems utterly stupid - the people who will go to these shows are mostly people who know who the bands are, just because the promoters don't recognise the names of the bands they promote, doesn't mean the fans are the same.
Although the scarier thought is that their tactic actually works in pulling along lots of random punters and making more money for the bar. Oh great, more people who are going to randomly walk in the middle of a circle pit, get hit in the face by a bunch of kickboxers and complain/whine/start an emo messageboard.
