An amusing thought after reading this page:

Top 10 Reasons to Install Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)

    1. Help protect your PC from harmful attachments. Help protect your PC from harmful attachments. By alerting you to potentially unsafe attachments, SP2 helps guard your computer from viruses that can spread through Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and Windows Messenger.

..thanks to Lotus Notes, Firefox, and Trillian, I'm not running any of those programs. In fact many of the other top 10 enhancements related to Outlook or Internet explorer, or people who have to have a PC level firewall running. The most useful/attractive feature that I can see there is the enhancements to the Wireless connectivity! This slashdot article starts as a conversation on the XP firewall, but of course degenerates into a discussion about everything but.. quite a useful list of personal firewalls and strategies contained within though, so it's worth a browse.

The other great feature in SP2 is the bluetooth support - vastly improved and much more intelligent in how it manages pairings etc.

Given your propensity for feature laden mobile devices, I imagine this would be higher on your priority list than the improved wireless support... :)
