The Cabinet

Well, finally here are a couple of quick photos from the recent Cabinet project. I've never ventured into the world of casemods, so this is my first really. I still have a lot of little details to finish, but for now here's some quick photos of where it's at right now:

The todo list:

  • Use a few more cable ties to tidy up. Damm those cables are a mess
  • Remove the old inbuilt powerboard that came with the rack (the one that was giving me lovely electric shocks previously!)
  • Put my old Dell in there, next to the full tower
  • Create a new front facia to house the SSI compliant on/off switch that was pulled from the old case
  • Get a full rack mount case (6u or 5u, or maybe more!) for the main computer
  • Add rack mounted UPS protection
  • Add rack mounted LAN gear
  • Add a rack mounted kb/mouse switch, and maybe even a fold up LCD

Thanks to Stephela for supplying me with that awesome cabinet, and to Sonic for helping with the move to the full tower!
