Are you a lumberjack? (etc)
Urm, this has to be the best chainsaw I've ever seen.
The best job ad I've read in ages..
Why can't more job advertisements be written like this?
Company Name Generator
Starting up a new company? Need a worthless catchphrase and name to go with the meaningless 27 page mission statement and the 10 paragraph email disclaimer? Well this could be your answer!
Merauder's Matrix guide amendments
I've just finished installing an Xodus Matrix into my V1 Xbox. Despite this being a solderless chip, I had a few hassles with the install. I *think* this is because my chip had initially been tried (and failed) in a v2 Xbox, and then sent to me from Norway. I figure that somewhere along the way the contact point oxidised, or got dirty, but the net result was that I spent ages trying to align the thing until I finally cleaned the contact - at which point it worked first time.
However, the point is, there were a few unanswered questions...
Getting Started in Network Security?
This Slashdot article has some ideas for interesting reading for those who want to get started in network security.
Merauder's May MMORPG Madness
It's been a little while since I've written any sort of a summary on the MMORPG's out there at the moment. This time someone else has kind of done it for me. The basis for this little piece of writing is Allakhazam's E3 Review.
First off, the comment about renaming of E3 to the "MMO Entertainment Expo" is quite a good indication of the way games are going at the moment. The Fast and the Furious - UK Style
If you ever thought a UK specific version of the Fast and the Furious was a feasible concept, then this should convince you otherwise.
No sir, I do not like it!
I'm sorry, I want to like it, but: yuck.
The Real Saddam
The deluge of Saddam related SWF's continues.. but this one is quite amusing.
Permanent Links
I finally got around to adding permanent link functionality to my template. I don't know why it took so long to add it, but there you are. Anyway it occured to me that mine aren't really permanent links in the true sense of the term, due to the fact that I'm using web forwarding to manage my domain name. All of my permanent links make reference to the IP address of the server the site is hosted on, as the domain name is managed by a company in the UK (which is also why the whole site is actually shown...
RSS babble
I've been reading a few discussions lately about RSS feeds and aggregators.
Jake of Codestore mentions it here
The main argument against most RSS aggregators is that they remove the personal touch of viewing or reading something on someones actual site, and therefore viewing the page/content in the exact way the webmaster intended.
I got to thinking that the way I'm using Trillian and its RSS plug in to use. I have my main blog type sites in a section on Trillians contact list - RSS items come under the sites heading, listed as itemised "contacts", with a hoverover summary showing if one...
