Oslo Trip - 26/07/2002

A few photos of my trip to meet up with Craig briefly during his backpacking around Scandinavia. We met up in Oslo and did some wandering about. The first batch of photos are from the Saturday, where we did a Fjord tour just around Oslo, and wandered about during the Summer festival. The photos from the Sunday (where we went to Vigelandsparken, the Vigeland Sculpture Park and then dined at a really awesome vegetarian/vegan buffet place) are on Craigs camera, so I'll try and add them when he gets back and has them developed! [
] Shot from the Hotel room, looking towards another hotel. [

] [

] On the Fjord tour - a shot looking back at the main harbor as we're leaving. [

] [

] Another shot leaving the main harbor - in the middle of the hill you can faintly see the Holmenkollen ski jump which we went to on Sunday (Its better visible from the large version of the JPG here). [

] [

] This shot is of an old lighthouse, which is now rented out for parties. It seemed like a cool idea to have a party out there, which is the only reason I took the photo. [

] [

] A boat. :p [

] [

] Shot of city hall (where the Nobel Peace Price ceremonies are held) as we're coming back into the harbour. [

] [

] There was a "Summer Festival" going on around the harbour. This is a shot of Craig walking towards it. [

] [

] Crowd shot. [

] [

] Random summer festival dancers. [

] [

] An attempt at trying to get a photo of both of us together without stopping some random passer by. [

] [

] ..and again.. [

] [

] I dunno, I just lined up the viewfinder and thought this looked kind of artistic. :p [

] [

] Wandering the streets on the way back to the hotel, using up the last of the battery. [

] [

][

] The following photos are from the second day, where we went to The Holmenkollen (sp) Ski Jump place, and the famous lesbian statue park. Ok, thats not its real name, but to be honest I forgot (and can't pronounce) its real name, so lesbian statue park will have to do. Besides, check out the photos and tell me its not an accurate description of the place! [

] [

] Craig standing down the bottom of the Holmenkollen jump. In winter that lake behind us freezes over, and becomes part of where the jumpers land / slow down. [

] [

] Same shot, me this time. [

] [

] Me standing outside the entrance to the jump park - you can see the main jump in the background behind me. [

] [

] ..and again.. [

] [

] Craig and I standing in the middle of the statue park in Oslo. [

] [

] This seemed an amusing concept at the time. [

] [

] And of course we both had to do it (and get stared at by locals) [

] [

] This section of the park was filled with loads of marble statues, all made of people interlocked together. [

] [

] Craig and the first of many lesbian statues. [

] [

] A lesbian gate. Craig had a theory that the 2 ladies on the left are more into each other, and they're actually plotting a way to get rid of the lady on the right. Its in the eyes apparently. [

] [

] Craig trying to get across his opinions on anal fisting. [

] [

] A long running look across part of the park. Whats that? No more of this scenic photography stuff, bring back the lesbians! [

] [

] Here they are, as a parting gift. A last look at another lesbian statue found in the lesbian statue park. [

] There were many others, but time (and a lack of camera film) was against us, so we had to move on. Until next time great lesbian statues of Oslo.. [
