Pivot.js allows you to summarise large data sets on the fly. Although my initial reaction is that if you could avoid doing that clientside then you’d probably want to, however that’s probably just my head stuck in the past a little.
Play with the demo, it looks pretty powerful.
Filtrify is an advanced tag filtering plugin – it looks pretty slick.

If you get asked for “Facebook style notifications” you could do a lot worse than check out noty. It has lots of customisation options, looks pretty slick, and can be made to look as Facebook-like or as un-Facebook-like as you like, like. Like, valley girl accent option.

It might sound like a stupid fix, but it seems to work:
- Open launcher
- Click the small gear icon on the lower left
- Change Language from English to any other language
- It should start updating, give it a few minutes
- When it starts updating, change the Language back to English.
